I love silly little project bags -- or rather, ones that stand out. My mom and I make our own for the shop, but I'm always on the lookout for a few that have fun sayings or unique pictures on them. When I saw this one from Knitpicks, I couldn't resist.... when am I not "Feeling Superfine"?
I have been doing some unabashed stash enhancement lately, especially after finishing a few projects (another pair of socks is off the needles as of today -- pictures soon!) I recently have made a goal of crossing some of my most craved yarns off the list so I can say that I've tried them.
First up, Wollmeise. This yarn has a following like none other, and in the US it is only available though the Loopy Ewe, to my knowledge. Instead of duking it out with the professionals in a purchase war, I took the safe route and contacted someone who had a few for destash. Apparently Twin, which is 80% merino superwash, 20% PA (polyamid or nylon), is the best for socks, so that's what I purchased. The colorway is a brilliant purple with blue tones. I don't normally like much purple, but this shade is so gorgeous I had to make an exception. With a whopping 510 yards, I definitely didn't mind the slightly higher price tag of this yarn.
I also picked up two skeins of Babette, available from Miss Babs. Coffee Break, is a stunning array of espresso and golden crema browns, cream, and gray. I don't have any sock yarn in this color so I'm excited to give it a go. The base for that hank is Cosmic -- 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon with 400 yards. The skein with the crazy green, teal, and purple tones is Zombie Games, dyed on her Yummy base -- 100% merino wool. I am thinking socks for both, because I am just really obsessed with socks (in case you couldn't tell!)
I made a few more yarn splurges this month that I'll share as they roll in. Did you buy yourself something wonderful & luxurious recently?
